What is Somatic Experiencing therapy?

Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-oriented approach to healing trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, and nervous system dysregulation, developed by Dr. Peter Levine. Rather than focusing on thoughts or memories, SE works directly with the nervous system to help complete the stress responses that got interrupted during overwhelming experiences. Sessions focus on body sensations, breath, and nervous system awareness. You do not need to retell or relive traumatic events. SE is particularly effective for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and chronic stress that has not responded to talk therapy alone.

Do you offer telehealth therapy in Florida and Connecticut?

Yes. Jennifer Goggin offers virtual therapy to clients throughout the entire state of Florida and throughout Connecticut. Sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. All you need is a private space, a reliable internet connection, and a device with a camera. In-person sessions are available at the Palm Beach Gardens, Florida office for clients who prefer face-to-face work.

Do you accept insurance?

Jennifer Goggin is an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance directly. A superbill - an itemized receipt with the diagnostic and procedure codes your insurance requires - is provided upon request. Many clients with PPO plans can receive partial reimbursement through their out-of-network mental health benefits. Payment is accepted via Health Savings Account, Venmo, and Zelle. Jennifer Goggin holds three professional credentials: she is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida (license #11170), a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut (license #1860), and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) credentialed through Somatic Experiencing International since 2007. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from Fairfield University and is a member of the Chi Sigma Iota honor society.
